I am shocked at the news. Elsie was an amazing person that I first met working and Canadian Tire back in the early 80's. I enjoyed her company an we worked well together. She had a strong personality and spoke her mind but got the job done always! Plants were her thing. And she finished working out in the garden centre. She had so much pride in her children and grandchildren. She would always talk family with me. After leaving the store, she would keep in contact with me, calling a couple of times of year, or I would call her just to touch base. She would brag about her family, tell me how many perogies she had made and how far she travelled to deliver them. It was always a laugh talking with her. I will surely miss those calls. - Posted by: Greg Romaniuk (Friend and co-worker) on: Nov 04, 2014

My sweetheart... Oh how I will miss you. Your saying "It is what it is" got me through lots. You touched the heart of so many people, but you grabbed mine and loved me like I was one of your own. My peorgie Queen, My mushroom picker, the fun we had. My love for you aunty Elsie.. "It is what it is" - Posted by: Bruce Dubeck (nephew) on: Apr 30, 2014

Sending condolences, love and prayers to my LLP Laurie, Dale, Krissy and other family members. I loved Elsie and was so honoured she let me call her "Ma". I always loved conversations with her and her passion with flower arranging at Cdn Tire...remember that Laurie? She had to have the flowers just right. She had the best stories. Rest well Elsie, you will be missed but happy that you are reunited with loved ones. - Posted by: Helen Robinson-Settee (Family Friend) on: Apr 29, 2014

Extending my deepest sympathy to the Kakoske family on dear Elsie's passing. Elsie was a dedicated 20 year volunteer for the Canadian Cancer Society's annual community canvass. Over the years I've been fortunate to have had several conversations with Elsie regarding her volunteer work. I recall these 3 in particular: her commitment to the Legion and Remembrance Day, the Cancer Society's April fundraising campaign, and her volunteer work at the International Peace Gardens for the summer kids' camp. Rest in peace dear friend. - Posted by: Lynda Ruban (staff at the Canadian Cancer Society) on: Apr 29, 2014

We will always remember Aunt Elsie for her quick wit and kindness to us. Her "magic" perogies will also have a special meaning to us. We'll miss her deeply, but know she is now with the Husband and family members that meant so much to her. Always in our thoughts and never forgotten. - Posted by: Dennis /Debbie Wisheranko (niece) on: Apr 29, 2014
