JOHN CHARLES (JC) MORTON February 7, 1946 - April 24, 2014 Peacefully on Thursday, April 24, 2014, with his eldest son by his side, John came to rest. He is survived by his special friend, Linda, sons, Chad (Lori), Andrew (Jamie), his beloved grandchildren Christian and Danica, his siblings Francis, Merle (Len), Vel (Brian), all his nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews, and his many dear friends. John greatly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and always made sure everyone got some attention. Whether it was playing a game of cards or watching a hockey game, he always enjoyed company. Rarely did he miss a grandson's baseball game, or pass up the opportunity to give his granddaughter her bottle, in fact, he often stole her from others just to have some time with her. He loved spending time with the little ones. If there was a family event, John was always up for a gathering and having fun. A private burial will take place. Please join us for a memorial reception at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., Winnipeg, Saturday, May 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. All are welcome to come, share stories, and perhaps play a game of crib. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the staff at the Health Sciences Centre for their compassionate care and assistance. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to CancerCare Manitoba or a charity of your choice. "Easy does it" Gilbart Funeral Home, Selkirk in care of arrangements. www.gilbartfuneralhome.com

John and I attended various schools in Stonewall back in the '50s and early '60s. As often happens, John and I lost touch over the years, but thanks to Craig Ross (another school chum) we linked up again about 5 years ago. I always enjoyed John's company and his positive attitude. I will miss him. - Posted by: James R Trick (School pal and friend) on: May 02, 2014
