BRENDA CAROL FONTAINE (nee BARKER) Quietly and surrounded by love, Brenda passed away in the early morning hours of April 27, 2014 at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster, BC from cancer. Left to cherish her memory is her two daughters, Michelle (Steve) and Michelle's children Tasha and Braiden; Monique (Corey) and Monique's children Austin and Kaitlyn; her father Norman Barker, brother Bruce Barker and sister Bev Wallis (Brad) and their children Heather (Ryan) and Samantha. Brenda's memory will also be forever treasured by her soul mate Tom Folks and his family. Brenda was predeceased by her mother Peggy Barker in 2006. Brenda was born in Winnipeg on June 5, 1956. She was raised in St. Vital and graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate. Brenda moved to Alberta in 1990 and then to BC a few years later. Brenda loved knitting, reading and long walks. Like her father and grandmother, Brenda had the patience of Job and a quiet inner strength that has no equal. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date in BC. In lieu of flowers a donation may be made in Brenda's name to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue,Winnipeg, R3E 0V9 or a charity of one's choice.

Dear Monique, Michelle, and Tom, So sorry to hear of your loss. Brenda and I still sent Christmas cards to one another, we spoke to each other as recently as this past Christmas. She did not let on of her illness. Our hearts go out to all of you at this time of loss and deep sorrow.
