ERWIN BLUHM With heavy hearts the family of Erwin Bluhm announces his passing on April 23, 2014. He will be lovingly missed and fondly remembered by his loving wife Helen Bluhm, his children Wesley (Pat), Weldon (Donna), Rodney (Elaine) - his grandchildren, Emit (Kasia), Nancy-Lee (Matt), David (Janet) and Tammy (Ryan), Dylan (Sara), Jodi - his great- grandchildren Hadley, Sam, Lena Dallas and Addison - his stepchildren and their children (the Wolfe clan) and many many friends. Erwin was born in Winkler on March 22, 1928. He married Helen Reimer in 1949. They moved to Winnipeg where they raised their sons. Erwin proudly worked at the Manitoba Sugar Factory for 40 years. He attended Bethel Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. Erwin enjoyed camping with his family, golfing, boating, fishing, and travelling eventually becoming a snow bird in the southern states. After retiring in 1994 he moved back to Winkler where he lost his beloved wife in 1999. Erwin remarried Helen Penner in 2001 and inherited seven stepchildren. Erwin continued his journey through life enjoying trips with Helen to Hawaii, Mexico, British Columbia, and the United States. Erwin and Helen had many social engagements with friends, dancing and playing cards topped the list - they truly loved each other's company. Erwin loved joking around and teasing relentlessly. His heart was warm and open and he left a lasting impression on those who were lucky enough to meet him. Funeral Service will take place Tuesday, April 29 at 2:00 p.m. at Bergthalar Mennonite Church in Winker. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.
