ELSIE NEUFELD (BORN)

ELSIE NEUFELD (nee BORN) 1921 - 2014 On Sunday April 27, 2014, at the Pembina-Manitou Health Centre, Elsie Neufeld, aged 93 years, went to her eternal rest. Elsie was born in Grossweide, MB on March 12, 1921, the thirteenth of 15 children born to Wilhelm and Agatha Born. She grew up in the Kane/Myrtle area until her family moved to Morden. She met her future husband, Bill Neufeld while going to high school in Morden. They were married on November 23, 1941 and shortly thereafter moved to Winnipeg. Five of their eight children were born in Winnipeg. They moved back to Morden in 1956 and three more children were added to the family. The family eventually moved to Winkler where they owned and operated Winkler Pharmacy. Elsie was predeceased by her husband Bill in 2009; daughter Nancy, granddaughter Shannon as well as all of her brothers and sisters, except one. She will be greatly missed by her brother Walt (Phyllis); children Constance, John (Jen), Linda (Ken), Lorna (Hank), Tim, Ray (Dawn), Sara; son-in-law Ben; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. A family funeral service was held on Friday May 2, 2014, at Wiebe Funeral Chapel in Morden with interment at Southside Cemetery.
