Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryANNE MITCHELL September 12, 1921 - April 28, 2014 Sadly, we announce the passing of our dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great- great-grandmother at the age of 92. Mom passed away with her daughter Marilyn by her side at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg on April 28, 2014. Mom was born in Winnipeg on September 12, 1921 to Hugh and Anne Campbell, the fourth child of a family of five, two girls and three boys. She was predeceased by her brothers Hugh and Jim and sister Violet. She is survived by her brother Roy Campbell, sisters-in-law Margaret and Gladys, her daughter Jackie (Lynn), son Jay (Margie) and daughter Marilyn (Larry deceased). Mom absolutely adored her grandchildren Curtis (Irene), Glenn (Joyce), Alanna (Dwayne), Michelle (Stephen) and Matthew (Brie). She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Scott (Mandy), Daniel (Jocelyne), Hillary, Jasmin (Kelley), Nancee-Lynn (Tyler), Kristy (Justin), Chelsea, Kaley, Brandon and Kyle and great-great-grandchildren Austin, Luca, Jaxson and Scarlett. She loved them all dearly. Mom was raised in West Kildonan and graduated from St. John's High School. She was mostly a stay-at-home Mom until she began a career with the Unemployment Insurance Commission. She excelled at her job in Winnipeg and was asked to take a position in Kenora, not far from their family cottage at McConnell Lake. The cottage was a highlight of Mom and Dad's lives since 1964 and it was a place of special gatherings for all the family until Dad's passing in 2005. Mom suffered bravely and greatly after undergoing cancer surgery and treatment when she was 77 years old. The last few years were very hard for her but she did as best she could. We, the family, would like to thank the staff at Middlechurch on Unit S2 for the wonderful, compassionate care they provided to Mom during the past year. We also offer heartfelt thanks to Mom's very special pharmacist and friend, Willson, for all the encouragement and support he gave her over the years. The love and acceptance she bestowed on her family is her greatest legacy. Thank you Mom, for loving us all unconditionally. We are comforted by the knowledge that Mom no longer knows pain and suffering and has peace in the arms of Jesus. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg MB, R3T 0R3 or the Salvation Army, 203-290 Vaughan St., Winnipeg, MB, R3B 2N8. Mom always had a special place in her heart for all the puppies that the family members had over the years and they were always welcome in her home. Cremation has taken place and a celebration of Mom's life will be held at the Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, 280 Balderstone Road, West St. Paul at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014. Major James Anderson and Major Darlene Anderson of the Salvation Army, officiating. A private family interment will take place at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens. www.chapellawn.ca 885-9715
