OLIVE MACLEOD (nee THORVALDSON) Peacefully on Saturday, May 3 2014, Olive MacLeod of Winnipeg passed away at Seven Oaks Hospital. Olive was predeceased by her parents Herman and Johanna Thorvaldson; her son Johnny; brothers Walter, Helgi, Karl, Kenneth and Harold; sisters Betty Thorvaldson, Gwen Munro, and nephew Fred Rutledge. She leaves to mourn, her husband Jack (John); children Peggy (Ken) Gibson, Karlene (Kent) Johnston, Doug (Candace), Ken (Desiree); grandchildren Josh (Allanna), Kyle, Derek (Chelsea), Brett, Kiefer, Keaton, Mila, and her great-grandchildren James, Ian and Madison, as well as many nieces and nephews. Olive was born in Selkirk and retired from Clarks / Gambles in Winnipeg. Mum loved spending time fishing, camping, bowling, golfing and travelling. At Olive's request, cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place at a later date. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, health care aides and staff at Concordia Hospital and especially Seven Oaks Hospital for all of their excellent care and concern. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Seven Oaks General Hospital Foundation, directed to 3rd Floor, Unit 12.
