Date of Passing: May 01, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryVIOLET MARY DIDUCK Our dear wife, mother and grandmother, Violet Mary Diduck (nee Becker), passed away suddenly on May 1, 2014. Vi will remain in the hearts and memories forever of her devoted husband Peter; her loving children, Alison and Alan; daughter-in-law Marlene; son-in-law David, and grandchildren Elliott and Max. Vi is survived also by her sisters, Delores Sandy, Helen Wright and Vicki Pidhayecki and their families; her brothers, Jack, Ted, Don, Adam, Dennis and Ken Becker and their families, with all of whom she shared laughter, love and life. Vi also leaves to cherish her memory her sisters-in-law, Rose Becker, Violet Diduch, Joanne Miller and Theresa Herzberg, and their families, as well as her many dear friends in Winnipeg and London, England. Vi was predeceased by her parents, Daniel and Annie Becker, and her brother Fred Becker. Vi was born in Fraserwood, Manitoba in 1932. After moving to Winnipeg as a young woman, Vi worked in Eaton's toy department. From there, she began working at Federated Insurance Co., where she remained in her career as an underwriter for many years, retiring in 1991. Vi married Peter in 1956 and they shared 58 wonderful years together, the last 10 in the Kiwanis Chateau where they shared the cheery company and comfort of their many friends there. Vi was an inspiration to all who knew her and incredibly generous of heart and spirit. From her knitting, to her baking, to her vegetable garden; from spending time with her many nieces and nephews of all ages, to cheering on the Blue Bombers with her grandson Max, Vi delighted in being with people, feeding them and laughing with them. And we delighted in her. When you are sorrowful look again in your heart, and you shall see that in truth you are weeping for that which has been your delight.' The funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., May 13, 2014 at Korban Funeral Chapel, 907 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba, with interment following at Holy Family Cemetery, 4355 Main Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba. Flowers are gratefully declined. If you wish, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba or a charity of your choice. KORBAN FUNERAL CHAPEL 204-956-2193

Vi was my 1st supervisor @ Federated back in 1974. On my 1st day of work, my bus broke down-so I was late for work( no cell phones back then). I was so afraid that Vi would be angry with me. But she was so understanding & laughed it off. May the happy memories bring you comfort. - Posted by: Simone Nicolas (Retired Federated employee) on: May 14, 2014

So sad to hear of the passing of Vi. A wonderful lady who we fondly remember. When my son Daniel was a toddler, and younger, she knitted him really cute clothing, which he loved. She was kind and warm and we will miss her greatly. We send condolences to dear Peter, Alison, David and Max, Alan, Marlene and Elliot. - Posted by: Lara (David's cousin from London, England) on: May 08, 2014
