ELAINE MACGREGOR 1947 - 2014 Elaine MacGregor passed away suddenly in her home on May 2, 2014, at the age of 67. Much loved daughter of Kay and the late Alistair MacGregor, and sister of John (Portage La Prairie) and Anne (Winnipeg). Elaine was a part of the Winnserv community for many years, where she was well loved by residents and staff, first at Twain and more recently at Wordsworth Way. She worked at Versatech Industries for 35 years, and then was with Community Ventures before taking a well-deserved retirement! Elaine was a sociable and kind person, always smiling and friendly. She loved to dance, do crafts, watch TV (especially Lawrence Welk on Sunday nights with her family), and to go out for coffee. Always popular, she leaves behind many friends in Winnipeg, as well as her MacGregor cousins in Canada, the U.S. and Scotland, and her Morgan cousins in Ireland. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 10 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard. The family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Winnserv for their wonderful support over the years, and especially to family friend Darlene Kaus. They made a tremendous difference in Elaine's life and we are very grateful. In lieu of flowers, donations to Winnserv Inc., 101-960 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3G 0R4 would be greatly appreciated. • I was so sorry to hear that you lost your dear Elaine. I got to know her when I was visiting a friend in Winnipeg and remember how friendly and engaging she was. She truly relished her favorite pastimes and was so inquisitive about the world around her. I know her family and friends will miss her greatly, and I am keeping you all in my prayers. - Posted by: Aida Cordano () on: May 12, 2014

  • Elaine was a fabulous lady who brought such a calm, positive and gentle approach to life. Many of us wish to aspire to be such a great role model. It is very apparent that she was surrounded by wonderful family values and was greatly loved. She will be greatly missed and my heart goes out to her family. - Posted by: Leslie Udell (Winnserv Inc.) on: May 09, 2014

  • Mrs. MacGregor, Anne, John, Darlene and friends at Winnserv. This saddens me greatly.... I have so many fond memories of Elaine. Weekly coffee trips to Unicity mall, her awesome and dry sense of humour, her deep connections to family and her love of a good cup of coffee. Yes, Elaine had it figured out. She leaves me with many great memories and a will always have a very fond place in my heart. - Posted by: Margo Powell (Friend) on: May 08, 2014
