Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Jonine (John), sons: Stephen and John Jr. (Brenda), grandsons: Ryan and Logan, sister: Jennie, brothers: Victor and Jim, and many others including: numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbours and all of their children. All will lovingly remember her for her upbeat energy that she always shared. Her parents: Victoria and Stephen, brothers: George, Bill and Mike, and sister: Olga predeceased her. My husband and I rented an apartment from John and Stephanie when we arrived in Winnipeg from Ontario. We liked John and Stephanie right off. They treated us like their kids. On the third day in Winnipeg, I had three job offers and your mom helped me decide. I worked at Furby Motors on Furby and Portage, only a short walk from where we lived on 66 Furby Street. Your mom was a great cook....when she made buns, she would always save us a couple for supper. We only stayed in Winnipeg for one year, but enjoyed the city, thanks to your dad and mom. We had so many laughs together. When we came home I corresponded with your mom for a few years, then we lost touch. She sent me the cutest outfit when our daughter was born. The other day a piece of paper fell out of an old book.....it had your mom's name on it. I typed her name on Google, and found the obit. You have my sympathy. I will always remember your dad and mom and how welcome they made us feel. - Posted by: Sheila Coligan (Friend from 1964) on: Feb 04, 2015

I met Mrs. Copen only a few years ago, and one of the many things that I truly enjoyed about her was her enthusiasm for cooking. She was always pleased to share a recipe, culinary tip, snack or a meal. Mrs. Copen was truly a hospitable lady with a generous heart. I shall miss her dearly. My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to her family during this time. - Posted by: Janice Duncan (Family friend) on: May 15, 2014

Johnine, I think about you and your family often and wish we had never lost touch. I remember your Mom's lovely sunny disposition and how I always secretly hoped that when I was at your home I might be treated to a song. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Stephen, and John.
