Condolences & Memories (5 entries)

  • My belated condolences to the Cartwright family. I first met Lorin in the Safeway meat room. One of my responsibilities was the hiring and placements of meat cutters (sickness, holidays). I tried to visit the stores and meet all the meat cutters and managers to make my job easier and they to know me. Lorin had such a warm, outgoing personality. Our paths crossed at John Blumberg golf courses several times as we both were golfers. Rest in Peace, God Bless - Posted by: colin dederick (co-worker) on: Aug 04, 2022

  • Lorin was a true gentleman, he was always laughing, we would talk for hours sometimes at the Portuguese club on Sheppard where he would laugh and tease everyone, then he always talked about church, cooking, and the Bahamas, the guys called him Bahamas at the club, or sometimes Lorin. He was such a great man, he always talked about his Wife and his son Lance. He is missed greatly at the club. I am so glad we got to talk about when he gets to heaven he will tell my father hello for me, when I bumped into him I would ask him what is my father's name again, and he would always know my dad's name, I can just see Lorin going up to my father in heaven and telling him that for me, because Lorin was a man of his word. :) - Posted by: Rachel & Manny (Friends) on: Aug 11, 2014

  • We are very saddened by Lorin's passing. Our deepest condolences and prayers go out to Lance and all his Family and Friends in their loss. I, (Ethel) in particular, have many fond memories of Lorin.......as he was a good Friend and Listener when I lost my 1st. Husband...when He was the Rector's Warden at St. Barnabas. In the past years, we had many many fond memories of Lorin and Eileen and everyone (us included) will certainly miss his jovial manner. He was a real CARD......and never had a cross word about anyone. He was the life of the party!!! a good cook.......and did most of the cooking for many Social Functions at St. Barnabas. We will forever Love you and will forever keep you in our thoughts and prayers........All the good Memories will definitely stay with us forever. You are Now Home......In the House of the lord......LORIN WILL BE FOREVER MISSED......BUT HIS MEMORIES WILL BE WITH US FOREVER!! - Posted by: Ethel & Don McCully (Friends) on: May 14, 2014

  • We were very saddened to hear about Lorin and just want to send our condolences and prayers to Lance and family. We have many wonderful memories of being friends and neighbours to Lorin, Eileen amd. Lance. They were like our family, and we will always remember them fondly. Since we moved to Regina, whenever we go back to Winnipeg to visit our daughter, we always think of fun times with them and miss them. - Posted by: Dennis and Jeanette Pageot (Friends) on: May 14, 2014
