NORMAND ANDRE JOSEPH CARRIERE It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Normand Andre Joseph Carriere on May 5, 2014 at Concordia Hospital at the age of 56. Norm was predeceased by his parents, Armand and Jeanne Carriere of St. Pierre Jolys, MB. Norm will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Cindy, son Shaun, daughter-in-law Monique, stepchildren Rod and Karly, and grandchildren Austin, Daymon, Rayvonna, Ayden and Sierra. Also left to cherish his memory are Norm's brothers and sisters, Roger (Roberta) Carriere, Delores (Germain) Roy, Pauline (Bryan) Korol, Jocelyn (Ed) Hodgert, Armande (Guy) Desmarais, Robert (Pauline) Carriere, Annette (Guy) Bouvier and their families. He will be especially missed by his companions Char, Cole and Jersey who gave Norm many years of joy. Born on July 27, 1957, in St. Pierre Jolys, Norm was the seventh child of eight and was always happy when surrounded by his family. His unique sense of humour will be missed by all. Norm was employed in the auto-body business for much of his short life and took great pride in his work. The last few years, Norm was a school bus driver of elementary children, and loved to share stories about his small charges. Norm loved to cook, and was always preparing something "tasty". His love of music was passed on to his son Shaun who is an accomplished musician because of Norm's passion. Norm's humour was infectious and his giggle will be missed. A celebration of Norm's life will be held May 31, 2014, at the Elmwood Legion, 920 Nairn, in Winnipeg, MB at 7:00 pm. The family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital ICU for their compassionate care during the last days Norm had with us. Donations may be made to any Animal Shelter in Norm's memory in lieu of flowers.
