HELEN REYNOLDS (nee DENENFELD) It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Reynolds announces her passing at the Health Sciences Centre on May 16, 2014 at the age of 94 years. Helen, the youngest of her family, was born on January 1, 1920 in Broadvalley, Manitoba, an area where her Austrian family of eight had immigrated to. Helen met her husband, Edward Reynolds of Eriksdale, Manitoba and together they worked hard and raised their family of four children on the farm. Helen leaves to mourn her passing, sons Edward and Ray (Monica) and daughter Joan. She'll be dearly missed by her six grandchildren Kim, Clayton, John, Mathew, Meagan and Emily, her five great-grandchildren Jennifer, Timothy, Kristy, Jessica and Kevin as well as her five great-great-grandchildren Nicki, Benjamin, Cameron and twins, Talia and Shea. Helen was predeceased by her husband Edward, her daughter Margaret and all of her brothers and sisters: Joe, Adolph, Leon, Cecile, Kathryn, Frances and Marlene. Helen had enjoyed her life. She always looked to tomorrow with enthusiasm and optimism. She especially enjoyed spring with gardening, planting and took great pride in her flowers, especially her roses. She was a fabulous cook who created meals that were enjoyed by many. She was the Queen of clean and if cleanliness is next to godliness she is as close to God as she could be. Helen enjoyed walks in the park, long car rides, the casino, travel and at age 90 took a cruise in the Bahamas. She enjoyed a good "heart to heart" talk over a cup of coffee and had a great sense of humour. Helen's life centered on her family. She instilled a strong work ethic in her children and she stressed the value of education and fairness. What a wonderful legacy Helen has left and this legacy will live on in all the lives she has been a part of. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 23, 2014 at Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main Street. Interment and reception will follow.
