Gladys was born June 1, 1927 in Winnipeg where she resided most of her years until relocating to St. Albert. She married Edward (Ed) Pare in June 1947 and together they raised three children: Raymond (Rachelle) of Sylvan Lake, Janice (Bruce) of Kelowna and Doug (Marnie) of St. Albert. Also left to mourn are sisters-in-law Pat and Jeanette and special friend Debbie. She was predeceased by her brother John and sister Maude. Gladys was an active member of the Eastern Star, Daughters of the Nile and Khartum Ladies Auxiliary and really enjoyed bowling and singing in the choir. She served as Worthy Matron of Empress Chapter #60 and held numerous other executive positions. The Celebrity Box Office was a later life career for Gladys as she fondly recalled memories of dealing with the numerous people whom she came to meet at her ticket counter. Gladys and Ed enjoyed many summers touring various parts of Canada and the United States as well as their time at Grand Beach and Almonds Acres near Gimli. Gladys' gracious and caring nature will be missed by those who knew and loved her. Interment will take place in Winnipeg at a later date where she will be laid to rest with her husband of 65 years. We were very fortunate to meet Mrs. Pare as we purchased their cabin at Grand Beach. I was sorry to see she passed and wanted to let the family how much we have enjoyed our purchase. They kept it in such good care, we are continuing to do the same and hope to have it for many years to come. We feel very blessed to have crossed paths. Sorry for your loss. - Posted by: JjODIIKOPEOjODEE jhAJKJKJKJKJDOEJode () on: May 26, 2014
