JEANNINE ARNAL-LEGAULT (nee BOURQUE) Jeannine Arnal-Legault was born on January 14, 1930, and passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the Riverview Health Centre. Mom was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Gertrude and her brothers Leo and Martin. In 1976, Mom suffered a great loss when her husband of 27 years, Edmond Arnal, was killed tragically in a car accident. She is survived by their children, Jeannette (Ted Vande Graaf), Gerry (Midge De Pape), and Marc (Diana), seven beloved grandchildren and their families including eight great-grandchildren. She will always be remembered for being such a loving and wonderful "Memere". She is also survived by her sister, Louise Prive of Montreal. Mom was also predeceased by her second husband of 10 years, Joseph Legault whom she married in 1988 increasing and enriching her family with nine more children, their spouses and many grandchildren. In 2004, Mom moved to the Cartier Manoir in Elie where she participated in all activities. There was many an evening spent playing cards with friends and new friendships were formed at the regular cribbage tournaments. We will be forever grateful to her wonderful friends and extended family for the many visits and who tirelessly helped and supported Mom through her illness. Thank you also to all the members of the home care and palliative care programs who were involved with Mom's care. Special thanks to the amazing staff of the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit, 3E. Your kindness and compassion were greatly appreciated. Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Elie on Monday, June 2 at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Riverview Health Centre Foundation at 1 Morley Ave., Winnipeg, MB.

Condolences & Memories (2 entries)

  • I have a lot of good memories partying with Jeannie in the 80's as well as the trip to Portugal in 1990. Whenever I'd see your Mom, I'd have to go and have a chat and we'd always share a laugh. May you find comfort knowing she's at peace and out of pain. My deepest condolences to all of you and your families. Big Hugs, Gisèle - Posted by: Gisèle Gillis (family friend) on: Jun 03, 2014
