Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOHN FRASER Peacefully on Monday, May 26, 2014, at the age of 90, John Fraser, beloved husband of Margaret (nee Bassett) passed away in the comfort of his home. He was predeceased by his parents, James and Jane; brothers, Dave, Jim (Leona) and Chuck (Elsie); sisters, Beth (Ed, Cecil) and Jean (Wilf). He is survived by his wife and three daughters, Linda (Kent), Donna (Ken) and Edna (Keith); grandchildren, Gordon, Kathleen, Erik and Drew, as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. John was born on December 17, 1923 in Charleswood. He grew up working on the family farm, later becoming a qualified mechanic for Smyrl's Tractor Supply. After marrying the love of his life in 1961, they moved to St. Germain. Dad was employed with the City of Winnipeg from 1970 until his retirement in 1988. Dad was a kind and generous man always willing to help a neighbour or friend. He enjoyed many family trips to the cabin and around Manitoba. His favourite times were spent at home working in the garage on the tractors and his truck. He loved nature and animals, always keeping a variety of pets for his girls. Gramps will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and sense of family. We wish to thank the staff of Palliative Care and Home Care for their kindness and compassion.
