KENNETH ROSS SCOTT July 22, 1941 - June 1, 2014 After a brief but courageous battle with cancer, Ross passed away peacefully on June 1, 2014 at Riverview Care Centre. Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 3, 2014 at Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Ross is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Janet (Potter), son Shaun, daughters Shauna Lee Brandvold (Eric), Heather-Rose Scott; brothers, Jim (Marie) and Cameron (Pat); in-laws Sam and Marcia Potter; brothers-in-law Mark Potter (Susan), Sheldon Potter; sister-in-law, Meryl Potter; granddaughters Mackenzie Brandvold and Rayne Scott, and long time friends, Bill and Eleanor Thompson. Ross was an employee of the trucking industry for 52 years, working short and long haul, dock and dispatching. He loved to regale anyone who would listen with stories of the road. In his retirement he became a voracious reader, loving non-fiction works to improve his knowledge of the world around him. Ross was always there when you needed help or a caring heart. He was never afraid of hard work. Many people work to live; but Ross was one of those very few who lived to work. "An honest day's work for an honest day's pay." He is loved and will be missed by all. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to CancerCare Manitoba or the Canadian Diabetes Society.
