Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemorySTEPHEN (STEVE) FOTTI Peacefully on June 2, 2014 Steve passed away at Luther Home at the age of 93. He is survived by his wife Betty. They recently celebrated their 69th wedding anniversary. She was everything to him and they loved each other very much. He is also survived by his son Ron (Lynne) and their children Dean (Joanna), Jennifer and great-granddaughter Madison; his son Greg and his children Chris (Sarah), Jeffrey (Cynthia) and great-grandsons Kaden, Chase and Tristan; also foster daughters Linda Shepherd and her family, and Louisa Horvath and her family. He was predeceased by his parents, his brother Nick, and his sister Mary. Steve served in the Royal Canadian Air Force from 1941 to 1946. After leaving the military he worked at the weather office in Winnipeg until he retired in 1976. Steve was an avid golfer in his younger years spending hours weekly on the golf course. In his later years he loved to play bingo. He was very active in his church St. Ivan Suchavsky, serving as treasurer and doing many hours of volunteer work until failing health wouldn't allow him to do so any longer. The family would like to extend their most heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Luther Home for making Steve's life as pleasant as possible for the four and a half years he was a resident there. The care, compassion and friendship shown him were above and beyond. We cannot put into words how thankful we are for them. Special thanks to Pastor Hanny Labun for her spiritual care of Steve. Cremation has taken place and at Steve's request there will be no formal service. A private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Luther Home, 1081 Andrews St., Winnipeg, MB R2V 2G9.

As a long time neighbour I have lots of fond memories of Steve. He introduced Ron and I to the game of golf, taking us to play rounds at Kildonan and Elmhurst. I will always remember his soft and gentle nature in dealing with us as teenagers. Sending our warm and caring thoughts to the Fotti family. - Posted by: Ralph Walker () on: Jun 15, 2014
