RUTH MARGARET HILL Ruth Margaret Hill was born in Boissevain, Manitoba, on July 22 1932. Her father died early in her life. Margaret, Ruth's mother and perhaps her best friend, moved them to Winnipeg, where Ruth flourished. These were seminal times for Ruth: she encountered many lifelong friends; she excelled academically; she had a career and, somewhere along the way, she met Jack Hill. To make a very long story short, Jack was her soul mate. Ruth and Jack were married for 55 years (until Jack's passing in 2012). They raised two sons; John and Glenn (chips off the old block; Ruth and Jack were very proud parents who had done their job well). They lived, they loved, they cried and they laughed. There are many stories -- life's rich pageant, one might say. Ahhhh, the stories. There are waaaaay too many to mention. But if you knew Ruth, you know the fun, you know the laughter, and you know the passion. Her glass was always half full. Ruth listened, Ruth cared and Ruth loved. She will be missed; she was one of the good ones. Over the past couple of years Ruth encountered many wonderful folks in the health care field: aides, doctors, nurses, workers and the like. Mere words alone can't express the heartfelt thanks that John and Glenn have for each and every one of you. Our world is a better place with people like you in it. Take a bow. Cremation has already taken place. Instead of donations or flowers, please do something nice for someone. Ruth would have wanted it that way. Carpe Diem!
