Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryALICE SIMONE EMMA FONTAINE (neé BEAUDRY) April 23, 1923 - June 1, 2014 Some people believe we can become an angel when we die. You, my love, were born an angel. Our dear mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by loving family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband, Adelard, son, Edouard (Wa), and grandchildren, Travis, Reina and Joel. She is survived by her children, Gilbert, Roger, George, Normand, Rene, Denise, Joanne, Paul and Mitch, and their spouses, 26 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, her sisters, Diane and Aurore, and many nieces and nephews. Mom was born in St. Eustache, MB. She was the 11th of 13 children of Arthur and Emma (Prefontaine) Beaudry. Alice and Addy built their home in St. Vital in 1950 where they raised all of their children. She was creative in needlework and sewing, cooking and preserving the bounties of Dad's gardening. She provided a nurturing atmosphere for her family to grow. The door was always open in our house. There was always room at our table. After Dad died she moved to Errington, BC to be near the majority of her children. Here, she loved her little house, a mini version of her home on Greendell Avenue, with gardens and plenty of space for big family gatherings. She was happiest keeping busy, still cooking, always ready to play cards and visit. There were always a few crochet and knitting projects on the go and she created countless items for her family. Her family was her life. She was glowing and sending out her tremendous love in her last moments. A private celebration has been held in Errington, BC. In Winnipeg we will gather for a private celebration at a future date.

To my grandma, thank you for sharing your knowledge, your heart and your wisdom. You contributed the most to my foundation while I was growing up and I have carried those traits with me through thick and thin. It is because of you, there are all of us and our loss will be a constant reminder of the blessing you were. - Posted by: Rachelle Baird (First born granddaughter) on: Jun 08, 2014
