MARLENE ELAINE MCGOWAN
Date of Passing: Jun 07, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARLENE ELAINE MCGOWAN August 19, 1944 - June 7, 2014 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our wife, mother and grandmother on June 7, 2014, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Marlene is survived by her husband Frederick Andresen; daughters Deborah and Jill (Doug); son Bryan (Rhonda); grandchildren Cody Buhler, Hailee Buhler, Scott McGowan and Michael McGowan; brother Mel (Lorna) Fidler of Toronto, ON as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents Henry and Emily Fidler and brother Larry Fidler. Mom had a very close bond with her parents and missed them greatly since their passing. Mom worked at various jobs, but her last job doing home care suited her generous, kind and compassionate spirit. She loved flowers and gardening. She enjoyed watching hockey, especially the Winnipeg Jets, and going to bingo with Fred. Spending time with her grandchildren brought her immense joy. Special thanks to the doctors and nurses at St. Boniface Hospital, Melvin in the ER, and the staff of 6 East. We would like to make a special mention to Arlene and Dr. Blom at Riverview Health Centre. The kind and compassionate way they took care of Mom and us under such special circumstances comforted us greatly during our time of grieving. Mom, you are forever loved and missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba or Riverview Health Centre Foundation. Funeral service 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at First Lutheran Church, 580 Victor Street, with visitation one hour prior. Interment, Emerson Cemetery, Emerson, MB. Bardal Funeral Home and Crematorium 843 Sherbrook Street, 204-774-7474 Condolences: www.bardal.ca
