Date of Passing: Jun 04, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJEAN ELIZABETH SHARMAN (nee RANSON) With sadness we announce that Jean passed away peacefully in her sleep in the early morning of June 4, 2014. Jean was born in Rugby, England in 1924. She came to Canada as a young girl, attended St. John's High School and married Cam in 1943 while he was serving in the Navy. Jean and Cam enjoyed 30 years of marriage. After raising their three sons, Jean obtained her LPN and worked as a nurse at the Grace and Royal Jubilee hospitals (Victoria). Jean was a loving daughter, mother and devoted grandma and great-grandma. She loved the lake - many happy family memories were made at the cottages at Moose and Falcon Lake. Jean was active throughout her life, having been a swimming instructor and enjoying cross-country skiing and walking. She was creative - she taught herself to play the piano, painted, wove cloth, and sewed and knitted over the years, especially for her grandchildren. "Mum" will be lovingly remembered by her sons and daughters-in-law: Bob, Doug and Nancy, and Terry and Kim. "Gram" will forever be in the hearts of her grandchildren: Colin (Erica), Derek (Jen), Jacquelynn, Trevor (Chelsea), and Kristina (Keegan); and her great-grandchildren: Kiefer, Annika, Callen, Gabriella and Isabella. Jean was predeceased by her husband, Cam, her parents and brothers. A private family memorial service to celebrate Jean's life will be held Thursday, June 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Thomson "In the Park". In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the CNIB. Thomson Funeral Home in care of arrangements. Rest in peace. We will love you forever.
