ARTHUR JOHN IMESCH March 1938 - June 2014 It is with sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Arthur John Imesch, with his family at his side, on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the age of 76. He will be missed by his loving wife Tillie, children Karen, Kim (Robert) and Louis, brother Robert (Dawn), Aunt Eileen, along with numerous relatives and friends. Art was predeceased by his parents, Doris and Leopold, and sisters Sylvia and Margaret. Art was born in Squamish, BC, raised in northern Manitoba, and as a young adult moved to Winnipeg where he spent the majority of his life. He was employed by Manitoba Hydro and after retirement in 1993, cherished his part-time employment with Child and Family Services. Art had a knack of telling many stories and jokes, inevitably would laugh the loudest at his own jokes. Dad was always the happiest when surrounded by family and friends. He formed many friendships over the years and felt he was truly blessed to have so many friends and remained close with most of them. Dogs were an important part of his life, particularly "Quincy" was lavished with affection. Dad had a warm, friendly outgoing manner and a giant heart. Even his sense of humour stayed with him until his final hours. According to Dad's wishes, cremation has taken place, and a private gathering will be held a later date. The family wishes to thank Dr. Singer, and the compassionate staff on the 4th floor of the Victoria General Hospital. A special heartfelt thank you to long-time family friend, Brian Peever for always being there. If friends so desire, a donation may be made in Dad's memory to a charity of your choice. You will be with us always and our memories of you will be with us all forever. You so deserve to rest in peace. God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference. • We are so sorry to hear of Art's sudden passing and we express our condolences to you Tillie, Karen, Kim and Louis. Art will be missed by many, he helped so many with his counselling skills with Manitoba Hydro and also in the self help program he was a member of for many years. • My condolences to the family on your loss. Our family lived across the street from the Imesches in Sherridon and we knew the family well in Lynn Lake. I remember when we young northern Manitobans would meet at the Paddle Wheel cafeteria at the Bay. Art's laugh was infectious and his energy level boundless. I am sure there will be many smiles and good memories to support you at this time. - Posted by: Claudia Gratton (Rawlings) (Lynn Lake friend) on: Jun 14, 2014

  • We were so sad to hear that Art had passed away. Although we weren't in touch over the years we have many good memories of Art. We appreciated his kindness to our "girls" when they were little. They (and we) always enjoyed his hearty laugh and welcoming nature. Our condolences to you Tillie and to Karen, Kim, Louis and all those who will miss his "big" presence. - Posted by: Paul and Mary Barton (Co-worker and friend) on: Jun 12, 2014

  • I first met Tilly and Art through my father (Bill Brown deceased MH employee and friend of Art's) at "The Deli". After my father's passing, I started work at MH. I ended up seeking Art's council over that loss. He helped me a great deal even though he had to repeat his advice to me often! We wish you peace and fond memories to help you through the pain of your loss. And we are thankful for the gifts Art shared with everyone! It was more than just a job for him, he was a real support. - Posted by: Wendy and Joe Krupnik (Friend and Coworker) on: Jun 12, 2014

  • Our condolences to Tillie and family. Liel is a brother of Ken who was Aunt Eileen's husband. He remembers Sylvia and the family from Sherridon and Lynn Lake reunions. - Posted by: Liel & Mavis Martinuson (Friends from Sherridon years ago.) on: Jun 11, 2014

  • I have fond memories of Art giving presentations to us at Corporate meetings. He was always informative, humourous, and spoke with great conviction and purpose. We knew he spoke from experience and was an excellent source of insight and knowledge. He was a pretty good guy. - Posted by: Robert Crawley (former co - worker) on: Jun 10, 2014

  • So sorry to read of Art's passing. Good friend, mentor to many. To Tillie, the twins and all the family my deepest condolences. Not surprised to read you mentioned Brian Peever, yes that is Brian good to all paths he has ever crossed. • My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this time. I was a friend of Sylvia's in Sherridon and was often at the Imesch house. Art was always so full of life and kept everyone moving at the reunion in Lynn Lake. Del Hildebrandt (Grice) - Posted by: Del Hildebrandt () on: Jun 10, 2014

  • We were so saddened to hear of Art's passing and offer our condolences to Tillie and his family. Art was an incredibly respected and wonderful guy, and he helped so many families during his time at Hydro and for that we are truly grateful. We particularly loved his big smile, hearty laugh and his meter reader stories from his younger days. He will be missed! - Posted by: Sandy (Duffy) Bacon (friend) on: Jun 10, 2014
