Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryISAAC FRIESEN March 28, 1924 - June 4, 2014 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Isaac Friesen on June 4, 2014. Isaac (Ike) passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family at the age of 90. He was born in the R.M. of Rhineland on March 28, 1924 and spent the earlier years of his life growing up in Halbstadt, Manitoba. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Elsie (nee Jarf); his children: Deborah Friesen, James (Angie) Friesen, and Kimberly Friesen (Kevin Lewis). He is also survived by four grandchildren: Jessica and Noah (James and Angie Friesen); and Mackenzie and Bryce (Kimberly Friesen and Kevin Lewis). Over Ike's life he was known for his smile; love for music; appreciation of people and their time given; the opportunity to learn from others; the joy of gardening; always willing to listen and respect what you had to say; his ability to share his skills and knowledge without any expectations in return; and most of all a person you would love to have as a friend. His love for family and life was always apparent and appreciated by all. Growing up in a family of 10 children, Ike understood the value of family, being there when needed, and cherishing every day. His background on growing up on a farm provided him with many skills and knowledge that only grew as he became an adult and transcended into his own family. Ike's joy for the land and the earth was obvious in the way he kept his yard, this was seen in the numerous plants, trees, flowers, garden, and landscaping details throughout his property. He would take pride in collecting rain water and reusing items to their fullest to not leave waste when not needed. Ike's way of life was something to be admired and emulated for all around him. When asked if he had any regrets or bucket list items to accomplish before passing his answer was no, life could not have been better. The family thanks all that visited Ike over the last eight months, your thoughts and prayers assisted dearly with his journey into a new beginning. As per Ike's request no funeral services will be held. In memory of Isaac Friesen donations may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care Manitoba.
