I was out of the country and just heard of Mr Cain's (as I knew him) passing. He was a gentleman who loved to tell stories, a dependable and honest individual who will be missed. He could always be counted on for advice on anything pertaining to his beloved Winnipeg Beach. He took great care of our cottage for almost 40 years. Our condolences go out to the family. A wonderful man has passed. - Posted by: Wes Palatnick (Friend and "customer") on: Oct 06, 2014

As a neighbour for many years Dick was like a grandfather to my kids, Betty like a grandmother, always helping us, and never an end to the baking, cookies, milk, if I couldn't find one of my kids I knew somehow they were at Betty's. The best people ever, May you rest in peace Dick and find comfort in your new home with Beautiful Betty. Your teachings will live on forever not only in your families lives but in the many others you touched. I never heard an unkind word out of either of you.. you will be missed! xoxo Sophie, Sarah, Shannon, Shane and Shawna! - Posted by: Sophie Stogrin (Neighbour, and friend) on: Jun 17, 2014

I first of all got to know Dick when we were room mates at a Goulds factory school in 1987. He was by far the oldest and the funnest room mate at the school. He said he loved hanging with us young guys as he could recycle all of his old stories on us! He has been a great customer of mine ever since. He will be sadly missed but very fondly remembered. - Posted by: Clark Myers (Supplier) on: Jun 16, 2014

I met Dick through his work as a trustee with the Evergreen School Division. He was such a friendly and outgoing fellow. Just a couple of months ago we had a great conversation in the board room while he was waiting for a meeting and I was putting up an art display. His dedication to the staff and students of the Evergreen School Division will not be forgotten. Rest in peace, Dick. - Posted by: Wanda Sparkes (Work associate) on: Jun 15, 2014

Dick, Betty and family have been dear friends for several years, having met during winter stays in Texas. It takes 5 minutes at most to decide you want them as friends. We mourn Dick's passing, and the void he left, but find comfort in knowing he is with his beloved wife, Betty.
