Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryNORMAN DESMOND WORT It is with great sadness and sorrow that the family announces the passing of our husband, father and grandfather, Norman Desmond Wort on Friday, June 13, 2014 at the age of 78 years. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his wife of 52 years, Jan, children Michelle (David), Martine (Mike), Gavin, grandchildren Juliana, Hailey, James, Derek, Martina, Austin and Rachael, and longtime friends Mike and Barb McArdle from Toronto. Dad was born in 1935 in Portsmouth, England and brought his family to Winnipeg in the 1970s. Dad loved his family and was a proud supporter of his children and grandchildren's activities: hockey, swimming, lacrosse, and musical theatre. He had a true passion for our family dogs especially his Sammy and Sheba. His work took him to many countries and he extended this passion for travel with his wife Jan. A perfect Sunday would be a backyard barbeque surrounded by family friends and dogs. Special thanks to Dr. Choptiany and to the staff at St. Boniface ICU. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Norman's life will take place at a later date for family and close friends. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations made to Winnipeg Pet Shelter.
