  • I had the opportunity to spend many experiences with Alan from our travels together to his adventures in real estate. I have many fond and funny memories of Alan. I'm sure he wouldn't mind if I mention the time he came out to our "Ho Down" at the ranch here in California and a friend of mine lassoed his toupee right off his head or the time he was painting the animal boarding facility I worked at in Laguna Beach when the sewer crew blew through the duct he was up on a ladder standing over and engulfed him with the dog pooh stench. The look on his face! Alan could talk to anyone about anything and people loved to talk to him. He was a character in every sense of the word and I will miss him very much. - Posted by: Linda Smith (Townsend) (Niece) on: Jun 20, 2014

  • I always looked forward to spending time with Alan whether it was when he lived in California, while traveling to England, or when I was a 12 year old visiting in the summer and learning to water ski and eat sunflower seeds. His adventurous spirit was infectious. His stories interesting. And time together always a hoot. We will miss him very much. - Posted by: John Townsend (Nephew) on: Jun 19, 2014

  • Don and Susan, We're so sorry to hear of Alan's passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this sad time. I hope to connect with Joan today. I know she too will be sad. They were very good friends. Sincerely, Jackie and Jim - Posted by: Jackie Drever (Old friend and business colleague) on: Jun 19, 2014
