Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDNA IDA HOOPER 1923 - 2014 Teddy' passed away after a lengthy illness on June 13, 2014. She is survived by her sons Terry of San Jose, Costa Rica, and Greg of Winnipeg; grandchildren Dylan and Kalie of Winnipeg, Shauna of Calgary, and Amy Dickson of Toronto; great-grandson Kyle of Calgary; sister Myrtle, and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by husband Paul, infant daughter Jo-Ellen, her parents Amy and Fred Andrews, and daughter-in-law Christine. Teddy was born and brought up in the Weston area and spent most of her life there, moving to St. Vital in 1984 where she joined the St. Mary Magdalene Church and served on the alter guild, prepared meals for senior luncheons, and helped with garage sales twice a year. She was also an avid bowler and was secretary of a seniors league for many years. In her younger years, Teddy was superintendent of a senior citizens lodge. She held this position for 15 years and enjoyed it very much. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service was held at Wheeler Funeral Home, 1800 Day St., Winnipeg on July 18, 2014. We would like to thank Jim, Rick and Denise, and Myrt for their love and support, Eleanor Henderson who was Teddy's lifeline and who did everything she could to make her life easier, and to Tannis Webster who was always there for Teddy. We would also like to thank her tireless home care workers. Donations can be made in her honour to Children's Hospital, the Humane Society, or a charity of your choice.
