DOREEN PARSONS (nee WHITTAM) After a brave battle with cancer Doreen passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2014 at the age of 72. Doreen was predeceased by her son Ian in 2009. Left to cherish her memory are her brother Ramon Whittam (Doreen) and her daughters Andrea Parsons and Elaine McNaughton (Wayne). Her grandchildren Jenn (Chad), Lianne, Stephanie, Andrew, Matthew, Laura and Kurtis. Great- grandchildren Abigail and Dominic will miss their Nana G. Doreen was a strong, loving woman who cherished her family with all her heart. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. Anyone could share anything with her and she accepted everyone for who they were. She was an active member of her community and worked tirelessly for seniors. She was most proud of her Recognition Award for Outstanding Contributions to Seniors and Their Communities in 2007. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the amazing staff of the Palliative Care Ward 3E at Riverview Health Centre. Your thoughtful compassion and understanding was above and beyond what we could have ever expected. Mum was so very fortunate to have been in your tender care. "She maintained a stiff British upper lip but was always an English rose." A private family service will be held. In memory of Doreen, donations may be made to Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care Unit. Mum you will be Ever Remembered and Ever Loved by us all.
