Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARTHA (MARTI) JANZEN October 31, 1940 May 30, 2014 With heavy hearts we sadly say goodbye to Marti. Marti Janzen passed away peacefully on May 30, 2014 surrounded by her loving family, after a brave battle against cancer. Marti was deeply loved and will be sorely missed. She is survived by her husband Hank, her children Sharon (David) and Colin, and her grandson Graham all of Vancouver, BC; her sisters Evelyn (Bill), Ena (Tom), her brothers Archie (Cathy) all of Winnipeg, and Adam (Joan) of Carman. Also mourning Marti are Hank's children Heather (Bill), Melanie (Jamie), Chris, and Leah, and grandchildren Daniel, Adriane, Patrick and Sadie, and numerous other friends and extended family members. Marti was born in Templepatrick near Belfast, N. Ireland, to Margaret and Archibald Campbell. Marti spent 18 years in Ireland then immigrated with the family to Canada settling in Winnipeg. Years later she moved to North Vancouver where she loved the mountains and the ocean. She enjoyed sightseeing, walks in the dog park with Hank, plus viewing the seals and the lovely ocean cruise ships. Marti had a love of dancing that started at an early age in the Girls Brigade in Belfast. In Canada, she became a McConnell Dancer and a long-time member of the Winnipeg Irish Association, where she danced and was also crowned their Folklorama Queen. Her love of dancing was life-long, and later also included ballroom and Scottish country dancing. Marti had a long career with CIBC and, following retirement, enjoyed her part time job of decorating windows and displays at furniture stores. Marti and Hank travelled many places and their annual visits to Maui were always a highlight. Marti enjoyed Friday evenings at the condo's "Berkley Room" with her friends and Saturdays shopping with her daughter Sharon. Throughout her struggle, Marti maintained both a positive attitude and a sense of humour. She was a devoted wife, fabulous mother, and overall just a wonderful person. Her passing has left a hole in many lives. A memorial service for Marti was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, June 6, 2014 at the Boal Chapel, 1505 Lillooet Road, North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the BC Cancer Agency.

October 31 would have been my Mom's birthday. My heart is broken. I miss her so very much, and I will forever. - Posted by: Sharon (Daughter) on: Oct 30, 2014

Marti was a "go to" friend, we understood each other, had similar Irish backgrounds and shared a sense of humour unique to the Irish. We shared every Friday evening having fish & chips along with our husbands for many years, then met up with them in Maui where we stayed in the same Condo complex. I have many fond memories of those vacations, miss her terribly, love her forever. God go with you. Always, Kathleen - Posted by: Kathleen Henderson (Dearest Friend) on: Jun 28, 2014

Oh my, such a beautiful lady. I met Marti after I became friends with her sister Evelyn. She was full of energy and niceness. I am so sorry for her passing and to let Evelyn and Bill know I am thinking of your sorrow. My sympathies to the family. - Posted by: Gloria Ivory, Winnipeg Manitoba (Friend of Evelyn and Bill) on: Jun 28, 2014
