MARTHA LYLE SAPER It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Martha, with her family by her side, beloved wife of Jim, and wonderful mother to Marla (Scott), Matt (Kelly), and Mike (Alaina and granddaughter Stella), and sister to Rob (Mardi, nephew Kevin and niece Kristi) on July 2, 2014. A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 4, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery, 236 Armstrong Avenue, Winnipeg, MB. Reception to follow at the Shaarey Zedek Synagogue, 561 Wellington Crescent. Longer obituary to follow.

  • With sadness I was told this morning about this passing. Always a bright spot in my life to see the Saper family every spring for over 30 years.   • We had heard that Martha was not well and were shocked and saddened to read of her passing the very next day. We knew Jim and Martha through an "old timers" hockey group years ago when we were all quite young. Martha was so friendly, always smiling. I have been in Ottawa for many years but your visit when you had been to see your son in NY State was just like no time had passed. The same when I saw you both at the FGL Induction Ceremony.
