KENNETH VERNON STROM In Loving Memory Kenneth Vernon Strom, aged 68, passed away peacefully on the morning of June 24, 2014 in Grand Forks following a courageous four-year battle with colon cancer. Born September 19, 1945, Ken lived in Winnipeg before relocating to Pembina, ND, and eventually to Grand Forks, ND. Ken worked in many fields including banking, government and customs brokerage, but he was happiest when sourcing and marketing innovative products. He is survived by his daughter Kellee Strom (Steve) of Victoria, BC, by brother Barry (Marlene) of Katy, TX and by family friend Norman Brandson of Winnipeg. Ken was predeceased by his father Helgar and mother Amy. Ken will be most remembered for his keen wit, his fondness for gold panning and the love he had for his daughter, and cat LB. At Ken's request, no service will be held, however his ashes will be taken by his daughter to places dearest to him. The family would like to thank Dr. Panico, the staff at Altru Hospital and the staff at Parkwood Place for their tremendous support and care during his final months.

  • Oh Mr Ken, I was so sorry to finally learn of your passing. I tried without success to catch you in Pembina on a few different occasions It saddens me to hear you succumbed to cancer. Such a quirky and goofy and sense of humour you had! We both got into some hot water working for the feds because of the practical jokes but man you were my kinda guy. The many trips to Pembina when you first bought the house down there and of course a few trips to "The Spot" were always a great time. I don't think I ever saw you in a bad mood and I loved your light hearted demeanor and view of the world. I'm so sorry I couldn't have been there during your cancer struggle my friend. Some day we will meet again but until then I will do my part to help in the fight against that pervasive disease. Thank you for all the great times and memories Ken. You are a good man. - Posted by: Timothy Sullivan (friend) on: Oct 24, 2020

  • Kellee and family.....I'm so sorry for your loss! I loved his keen wit, sense of humour and his love of mischief. He had a wonderful smile and always seemed to love life. I lost contact with him when we entered "adult life" and went down different paths. I do know how much he loved you, and how proud he was of you...after you were born, any conversation to be had you were always the centre of his world! He will be missed! Sincere Condolences! - Posted by: Judy Lange (Neighbour & family friend) on: Jul 06, 2014
