PAULINE MCBURNEY On the morning of June 27, 2014, after a brief illness, Pauline McBurney passed from this life and into the presence of her Lord and Saviour. Pauline was born into the Bonk family, one of 21 births, on July 8, 1927 in Glenavon, SK. In 1947 she moved to Souris, MB, worked in Jacobson's Photo Studio, met and married her husband David in 1948. They raised four children and were together for 56 years until Dave passed away in 2004. Pauline also worked as a dietary aid and housekeeper in Victoria Park Lodge in Souris. Her many gifts included music, decorating, sewing, cooking and baking, and her home was a warm and welcome place not only for the family she raised, but for countless guests and visitors over the years. She celebrated her family's and friend's accomplishments, milestones, and life events with wholehearted support and enthusiasm and enjoyed the details of even everyday events. Pauline will be remembered for her exceptional kindness and compassion, always reaching out to those in need. She was enormously proud of her children and grandchildren and leaves a beautiful legacy of love, encouragement and prayer. Pauline instilled in her family a deep faith in God, and it's from this shared faith that we gain our strength in this difficult time of saying goodbye. Left to mourn her passing are five siblings, many nieces, nephews and friends, but most especially her children; Adella (Kevin), Al (Linda), Marlene (Gord), Linda (Craig), grandchildren Shane (Tara), Crystal (Jody), Jaylene (Scott), Jodi (Brad), Samara (Todd), Christa (Peter), Ryan (Crystal), Haley (Erich), Sharla (Jon), Spencer, and 17 adorable great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by great- granddaughter Presley. 'A Come & Go Remembrance Tea' will be held in Pauline's honour at her apartment building, 571 St. Anne's Rd. on Saturday, July 5 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Also, a celebration of Pauline's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, in Souris Gospel Chapel, Souris, Manitoba at 2:00 p.m. If friends so desire, donations may be made in her memory to the Crisis Pregnancy Centre of Winnipeg, 650 Broadway Ave. R3C 0X3 or to the Gideon Bible Society.

Aunt Pauline was always so welcoming when we were on furlough from Ethiopia and visited her and Uncle Dave in their home in Souris! She treated each of us as special people...one special memory of her was when she bought me a sweater set at the local store there. Aunt Pauline exemplified the life of Christ through and through. My condolences to each of her family members. - Posted by: Priscilla Budd (Niece) on: Jul 17, 2014

And beautiful, cheerful, selfless person. She exemplified the ideals of St. Francis, because she was in love with Jesus. I and my siblings, rootless mk waifs from Ethiopia, felt accepted, affirmed and loved by Auntie Pauline. - Posted by: jonathan bonk (Nephew ) on: Jul 12, 2014

Pauline was a sweet, compassionate, loving woman, who I had the pleasure of knowing through Linda her daughter, and the rest of the family who welcomed me as a "member" of their family! I was blessed to have known her, and she will be sadly missed by myself and all who met and got to know her! We did many things together, especially prayed together! Even in hospital she had them smiling! My prayers go out to all the family at this time! She rests in Peace! May you all be comforted in knowing that! :-) - Posted by: Kathleen Joan Jenkins (friend and "adopted daughter") on: Jul 07, 2014
