ROY HERMARY Roy Hermary renowned foodie, ladies man, bird watcher, animal lover and Accomplished hardwood floor craftsman died on June 25, 2014. Roy took pride in sourcing his produce from local markets and on any given Afternoon you could find him in front of the stove stirring his famous stew and dumplings, offering fresh baked bannock with a side of buttermilk. Though famous for his baby back ribs, he enjoyed the art of a tomato and bacon sandwich or late evening open faced grilled cheese and bacon with a cowboy movie on the side! It was a given that every Sunday morning all woke to winkler fried bacon, eggs and a tower of pancakes with the ritual of serving himself last. That's just who he was! Known for reciting with explicit detail every Anne Landers "Miss Lonely Heart" Story and later recommending her treatment to others in the local pub! He often found his sweet spot reading the column with a softened voice effortlessly drawing us in, to engage in his mockery. His famous one liners were hilarious yet surprisingly endearing. "What, you ran out of groceries you gotta come here"? "I'll take you for lunch, let's go to Costco" " I'll take you for lunch let's go to a funeral" "Your mother's losing it" "Ya right" "What did I tell you, I told you so" "Sure Freddy" "Lock the doors, shut the lights the Griswalds are here" " It must be supper time the Clumps are here" "Here comes the Free loaders" "I hope you brought toilet paper" "I'm telling you the truth" "I'm telling you she wants my body" "Don't crack your nuts" "Hi we can't come to the phone right now, leave a message BEEEP..." All of his life he was proud of his love affair with the Boston Bruins with a spot on the farm team roster, or so he said! Since 50% of everything he said was true, he was never boring. In his presence you were effortlessly entertained with remarks right out of left field followed with laughter by all. He had this amazing talent to pass time in the emergency waiting room scoping out anyone who entered staring them in a little game of improv, and naturally matching his dialogue to the cause of events leading us to giggles and chokes. If you were a client you wanted his body, if you were a nurse he asked you for a kiss. If you own a restaurant and he liked your food you're commendable, if you were full of it he called you on it, and pet peeves included dirty hands, know it alls, buffets and people first in line for them. He took great pride in his eight grandchildren Nelson, Jayden, Jessie, Jordan, Mackenzie, Brandon, Karley, and Payton and had special nicknames for them all. He often indulged with them eating anything sweet! He had a soft spot for sharing a space with loved ones with the comfort of few words. You could guarantee hearing tribal trails or friends on Fridays in the background, and you wouldn't think of messing with his station! He left behind beauty in many homes marked by the work of his bare hands and if you met him marked by his gentle way. He was so blessed to spend his last days in the comfort of his own home and to have his wife Joanne honor these wishes, demonstrates their 52 years of unconditional love. Her strength and endurance remains touched by their children who enveloped every possible moment they spent with their Dad. Anchored by the support of his wife and best friend Joanne, loving son Lindsay, loving daughters Kimberley and Jodie, foster son Keith Ross and proud sons-in-law Marcel Pineau and Darrell Cornwall. Roy is predeceased by his mother and father Alexina and Albert Hermary, nephew Bobby Jr., his brothers Bob and Renne, his son Tyler and his brother-in-law Gordie Lindsay. He will be tremendously missed. Nano Nano Dad!

Although I have not seen you since we were children, Diane has mentioned a "cousins" reunion several times so hopefully we can all get together one day.
