BETTY FLORENCE MCKENDRY Peacefully, Betty passed away June 26, 2014 at the Victoria General Hospital. Betty was predeceased by Don, husband of 47 years. She is survived by sons James (Denise), Robert (Rachelle) and granddaughters, Michelle, Amanda and Alandra. Betty grew up in Winnipeg. After graduating from College she went to work for the C.B.C., before moving to the University of Manitoba. Our beloved mother, grandmother and friend, Betty, had a passion for travel and enjoyed time spent at the cottage. She took great pleasure meeting with her Red Hatters and spinning groups. An accomplished Artisan, she lovingly spent hours creating beautiful crafts, art and gifts that will be cherished treasures by us all. Betty will be remembered for her warm, easy smile, light hearted laugh and upbeat, positive attitude. We are grateful to Betty's lifelong friends and well-wishers that knew and loved her as we do. In keeping with her wishes, a private family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to Darcy's Arc or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Iam so saddened of the loss of a dear friend. I began to know her as she lived at the Portsmouth. I will always remember her stories, her peanut brittle and wonderful smile when ever I walked in her door! She will be truly missed and Betty will always be in my heart and in my thoughts. My sympathies for her loving family. - Posted by: Maureen Smith (Friend from the Ports) on: Jul 05, 2014
