JANICE KORDA Peacefully, and surrounded by her family, Janice Laureen Korda passed away after a brief illness with cancer on July 6, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre Women's Hospital. Janice will be forever missed and loved by her husband David and daughters Allison (Anil) and Andrea. Also left to cherish her memory is her mother Mary Wolfe; her brothers Barry (Virginia) and Kevin (Anita); and her sister Pam (Denis). Janice is also survived by her mother-in-law Mona Korda, sisters-in-law Nancy (Darrel); Maureen (Michael) and brother-in-law Robert (Kathleen) and several much-loved nieces and nephews. Janice was predeceased by her father, Henry Wolfe. Janice was born in 1956 and a lifetime resident of Charleswood. She had a long career at MTS where she made many lasting friendships. She nurtured her creative soul through jewelry, painting, gardening, reading and observing nature. Janice will be remembered for her incredibly kind and gentle spirit. All who knew her will miss Janice's lively laughter and beautiful smile. Janice was very appreciative and thankful of her doctors and the caring staff of the H.S.C. Women's Hospital, 5th floor during her short stay. A private family memorial will be held later this month. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, a donation to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation, or a charity of one's choice would be appreciated.

  • My condolences to Dave, Andrea, Ally. You will all have such lovely memories of Janice. Janice and I became friends when she first moved into her new home on Pepperloaf, many fun science experiments happened, we had a friendship that would last a lifetime. Although her life was much too short, Janice touched many people with her kindness, was the most wonderful person, with her smile and giggle and zest for life. Andrea and my daughter Erin were great camping buddies, where Erin acquired her nickname of ED. She loved her family and talked about her kids with a smile on her face as she did with her dogs and loved life. I had the pleasure of being her friend and her co-worker. I know I will certainly miss her dearly. - Posted by: Janice Dack (Livelong school friend and co-worker) on: Jul 14, 2014

  • I first met Janice when we both took painting classes at The Faux Store a number of years ago. We shared many laughs together. She never hesitated to share her artistic talent with others, and she was a great talent. She loved her daughters deeply & always had a story to tell about them. Our deepest condolences. Your family will be covered with our prayers. - Posted by: Abe and Janet Hiebert (Uncle and Aunt) on: Jul 14, 2014

  • I am both shocked and extremely saddened to have read of Janice's death. We shared so much in our years together from grade 7 through to grade 12. Reconnecting when we had our children also gave us great memories. Even though our lives took different paths, I always thought about her on her birthday, Oct. 1. To all her family please accept my most sincere condolences. A life taken far to soon, Asta. - Posted by: Asta Johannesson (Kornovski) (Friend ) on: Jul 13, 2014
