JOYCE LILIAN LLOYD
Born: May 24, 1923
Date of Passing: Jul 07, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOYCE LILIAN LLOYD Born May 24, 1923 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend on July 7, 2014. Joyce was predeceased by husband Bev. She will be dearly missed by her children Rob (Laurel), Claire (Dennis), Kathy (Don) and David (Pamela), and her nine grandchildren Anita, Caitlin, Alissa, Ashley, Megan, Craig, Karla, Amy and Jeremy. Joyce will also be sadly missed by her beloved sisters Margaret and Bea, and her many nieces and nephews. Joyce and Bev had many happy years creating memories to cherish - 46 Ashland parties (Chip Dip! Brownies!), camping and ski adventures, endless support of family sporting events, time at Lee River, dedication to many volunteer organizations and traveling around the world. In later years Joyce loved playing bridge, listening to CBC and tending to her flowers. She was a strong, independent, caring woman who will be greatly missed and remembered for her generosity and wry Mitchell humour. No service by request. There will be a family Celebration of Life at the end of the summer. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

We were so very sorry to hear of Mrs. Lloyd's passing. There were so many fun times over the years as our family celebrated with the Lloyd's. Joyce and Bev hosted a great party for Dan and I when we got married and we always looked forward to seeing them when we visited Winnipeg. Mrs. Lloyd was a true friend to my Mom and she will be missed very much. Sincere sympathy to the family. - Posted by: Donna Ptolemy (My Parents, Marj and Dick were Best Friends of Joyce and Bev)) on: Oct 26, 2014

I will miss Auntie Joyce very much. I have early memories of the Christmas parties on Ashland where Uncle Bev would make my sister Nicole and I a "Shirley Temple" cocktail and we'd get those butterscotch candies that came in tins. A more recent memory was running into Auntie Joyce and Margaret by chance on a plane back to Winnipeg and getting shushed by the flight attendant because we were all so excited to see each other. So sorry for everyone in the Lloyd family's loss - she was a very special lady. - Posted by: Aaron Littlewood (grand nephew) on: Jul 24, 2014

Memories from the McMorrans include invitations to dinner on Ashland when in town. Clare was a patient in the Princess Elizabeth Hospital [polio area] on several occasions. Bev and Joyce were wonderful hosts on several occasions. My parents were Lyall and Inez McMorran. Lyall and Bev were cousins. So very many wonderful memories are passing through my mind these days. I had great admiration and respect for Joyce and always enjoyed being in her company. She was a marvelous person and will be missed. The Lloyds are all wonderful people and my thoughts are with you all. Love Shaunda - Posted by: Shaunda Hanlon (Niece) on: Jul 17, 2014
