I apologize for the late comment. Dr. Hokanson was a very empathetic person. I remember overhearing her conversation with another psychiatrist in medical records at the hospital. He was telling her about one of his patients who thought she had bees in her head. He was chuckling and it was obvious that he was making fun of her. Without pause, Dr. Hokanson expressed how terrible that must be to hear bees buzzing in your head. That shut him down in the most compassionate, sweet way. This would have been in the early 1980s, but I still remember thinking that if I or anyone I knew ever needed a psychiatrist, I would choose her. Rest in peace sweet lady. - Posted by: Debbie (Friend) on: Aug 12, 2025
