I met Diane a few months back when she came into the Gimli Library. We clicked and became very friendly when she would come in to visit. She was such a lovely person and I was always so happy when she would come through the door. She always had a beautiful big smile on her face and she would brighten our days at work. I'm so very sorry for your tremendous loss. She will not be forgotten. - Posted by: Melanie Dryden (friend) on: Aug 05, 2014

I have only known Diane for a short time but in that time we became very close friends and she treated me like a daughter; my children (Emma, Kaiden and Caleb) as her own grandchildren, and I was so blessed to give Diane her first blood grandson Logan. Throughout her battle she always stayed so positive and strong. All she wanted was to enjoy Gimli and watch the Grandchildren grow up, her time was cut too short. We were lucky that she was able to be there to meet her grandson and I believe her love for him as well as her children kept her with us as long as she did. Diane was the best cat mom, as well as people mom I have ever known. She had such a strong relationship with my boyfriend Anton, I only wish I could have the same with my own children. In her final days she shared with me that she was very peaceful and ready to go. She was coming in and out of the spirit realms and said when she leaves she can breathe easy and where there was pain there is none. We will forever keep her memory alive and miss our Nana dearly. But we all know she is our guardian angel and forever with us. - Posted by: Chantel Miyai (Daughter in law ) on: Jul 22, 2014

After a year long battle with cancer I lost my sweet sister Diane. Although we only ‘discovered’ each other later in life, finding her and getting to know her made my heart sing. If they had been the same age Diane and our mother could have been identical twins. She lived life with abandon and fought her disease with determination and a positive attitude. My greatest regret is not having had more time getting to know each other. Rest in peace little sister. I will miss you. - Posted by: Dennis Billo (Brother) on: Jul 19, 2014
