LAWRENCE MICHAEL SKRYPNYK With great sorrow, the family announces the sudden passing of Larry on Monday, July 7, 2014. Left to cherish his memory are brother Bob, sister Darlene (John), sister-in-law Elaine, and numerous nephews, and nieces. He was predeceased by his parents John and Lena Skrypnyk, and brother Ed. Larry was born June, 28, 1953. He began his working career with C.N.R. as a carman at the Transcona shops. His passion was music having had success locally with the Chaparrals band. In 1983 the band went on the road and Larry pursued his musical career in Alberta under the stage name of Larry Michaels. He settled in Torrington, AB, where he studied alternative medicine and helped many people back to health as a naturopath. Larry made many friends over the years and viewed many in Torrington as his extended family. He was quick with a smile and a kind word. His presence brought out the best in others as he practiced giving an unconditional love to those around him. He strongly believed in the creator and served his will to the best of his abilities. Cremation has taken place and a private interment will take place at Transcona Cemetery. The family would like to thank the staff at Calgary's Foothills Hospital for the care they provided in Larry's final days. Larry will be sadly missed and forever in our hearts.

  • Shocked and in disbelief of your passing, I will miss you Larry and will remember all the good times we've had over the years. Our late night business talks and many good memories. I know Bob and all the family and friends will miss you so much and I'm praying for your family every day. God gained a great guy in Heaven, and I know you'll be playing him a few good old tunes on the guitar. I can't wait to see you again Larry and going to miss you so much. God Bless. • We were shocked to hear of Larry's sudden passing. We were very fond of Larry (and his brother Bob too). My husband Doug has know the boys since the mid 1980s when they partnered in a musical venture together in Calgary--"The Rocky Mountain Jamboree". Since 2008, Larry was a very active 'Founding Member' of our company--Zenus Global Health in Las Vegas, NV and helped so many people restore and maintain their health. He will be very much missed by us and many others and remain close in our hearts. RIP dear Larry. - Posted by: Doug & Krystyna Widdifield (Good friends) on: Jul 20, 2014

  • Larry was one of my best friends, always there for me and my family. He was a sweet man and we spent many hours talking about life and God. I will miss our time together. His practice as a health care practitioner was amazing, he was always looking for better ways to help people overcome their health issues, always giving. He was constantly researching, taking course and learning something new that he felt would enable him to help even more. Anyone that knew him will dearly miss him. He was one of a kind that touched many lives. He always said that all we need to have was unconditional love. I am sure that he is with his lord and surrounded my that love that he always spoke of as being the key to contentment in our lives. His life was full of what was important and meaningful. I was blessed to have known him. Michelle My condolences to Bob and the family - Posted by: Michelle Koster (Friend and Client) on: Jul 19, 2014
