DONALD BARRY BRIDGE, BA LLB Don passed away on Friday, July 18, 2014. He was born in Carman, MB on August 3, 1928 to Frank H. Bridge and Ethel Miller. Don is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lenore Millar, son Jeffery of Surrey, BC (Dianna and Bevin), son Paul (Kathi) of Vernon, BC (Ian and Natalie), daughter, Aynsley (Dr. Michael McKay) of Napoleon, OH (Chloe), and son Bruce of London, ON; also his brother Douglas (Bertha) of Winnipeg and brother-in-law Robert Millar (Donna) of High River. AB. Don attended school in Baldur, MB and Winnipeg followed by United College (University of Winnipeg) and the Manitoba Law School. He worked as Legal Counsel for the Canadian Indemnity Company in Winnipeg and Toronto retiring in 1985. Don lived in Winnipeg until 1972 at which time he and Lenore moved to Oakville, ON. They retired to Goderich, ON in 1994. Don was very active in sports as a young man. His team won the Manitoba Schoolboy Curling Championship in 1944. He pitched for the Stan Evans Orioles and played goal for the Winnipeg Monarchs. Don belonged to the Winnipeg Granite Club, Deer Lodge Curling Club and the Oakville Curling Club. After retirement, he golfed at the Goderich Sunset Club. A very special thank you to the staff at Maitland Manor for the wonderful care they took of Don. Cremation has taken place. There will be no funeral service. If friends so desire, a donation may be made to the Alzheimer Society.
