Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryELIZABETH ROSE MARLEY April 12, 1913 - July 24, 2014 Peacefully, on Thursday, July 24, at Fred Douglas Lodge, Elizabeth Rose Marley, beloved Aunt, great-Aunt, and great-great-Aunt. Rose was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Bert Marley, her brother Albert and her sister-in-law Doris. She leaves to cherish her memory her two nieces, Judy Waters and Shirley Marley (Carl), her great-nieces and nephews, Tannis Harrison (Shawn) of Comox, BC, Todd Waters (April), Jennifer Yasinsky (Jody), Guy Marley (Kristina), and seven great-great-nieces and nephews. Her family was of the utmost importance to her, and she was always an avid supporter of each one of us. Our Aunt was born in St. James and lived her entire life in the family home on Hampton Street until she moved into Heritage West Apartments on Setter Street, and then into Sturgeon Creek Retirement Residence #1 on Hallonquist Drive. After a fall in October 2011, she moved for a brief time into the Charleswood Care Centre, and then into Fred Douglas Lodge on Burrows Avenue in May 2012. Aunty Rose was a loyal member of the St. James Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star, serving in all the various Offices including Worthy Matron. She was honoured in January 1996 on her 60th anniversary with the Chapter. She was also a longtime member of St. James United Church. A memorial service celebrating the life of our very dear Aunt will be held at the historic St. James Anglican Church, located in St. James Cemetery, 525 Tylehurst St. (directly across from Polo Park), on Friday, August 1, at 1:30 p.m. with the Reverend Aubrey Hemminger officiating. She will be interred with her parents in the family grave. The family wishes to extend our warmest and most heartfelt thanks to the staff of Oak Unit at Fred Douglas Lodge for their friendship and wonderful caring of our dear Aunt during the past two years. She was a warm and gracious lady who will be dearly missed. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to St. James Anglican Church, Friends of the Cemetery', c/o 195 Collegiate St., Winnipeg, R3J 1T9.
