ELEANOR PATRICIA CURRY ROBSON (PAT) RN, BN July 28, 1928 - March 6, 2014 The Robson family sadly announces that Pat passed away quietly, in the gentle care of the staff at River East Personal Care Home. Pat is missed by her siblings Ina Light (Ron), Dorothy Corkish (John), Dan (Ellen), Gerry Martin (Cal), Laurie, Don (Nancy), Ian (Irene), as well as her many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Maureen and brother Bill. Following graduation from high school, Pat worked for a number of years at the Manitoba Text Book Bureau before following her dream to become a nurse. She was accepted at the Grace Hospital in Winnipeg and achieved her RN designation. After six years as a public health nurse she enrolled at McGill University in Montreal and earned a Bachelor of Nursing degree. Pat returned to Manitoba to continue her career as a public health nurse. Her work took her to Flin Flon, Selkirk, Portage la Prairie, then finally back to Winnipeg where she retired in 1988. Her love of travel and the arts took her too many place in Canada and around the world. Her love of the arts was eclectic, from the Royal Winnipeg Ballet to Benny Goodman at Place des Arts in Montreal, from the Fringe Festival to the main stage at the Manitoba Theatre Centre, she supported them all. She also had strong spiritual connections to the United Church and attended services regularly until her illness made it impossible for to participate. The Robson family express sincere gratitude to the staff at River East Personal Care Home for the care and love they provided and especially those in Courage Bay which was Pat's home for almost eight years. A celebration of Pat's life will be held in the Gathering Room at River East Personal Care Home, 1375 Molson St., Winnipeg, at 11:00 a.m. August 2, 2014. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the charity of your choice.
