Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKENNETH GLEN WEEDON March 29, 1945 - July 20, 2014 Friends and family mourn the passing of Kenneth Glen Weedon, 69, who passed away peacefully on July 20 at Concordia Hospital with his companion, Deborah Hay, at his side. Kenny was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada and lived his entire life in the home where he was born. Kenny was a dedicated employee of the Continental Can Company (eventually sold to Sommerville Belkin) and worked at the same plant for a total of 40 years plus one day. Kenny retired from the company as a man of integrity and took his job very seriously, where family and friends believe he never took a sick day. Kenny was preceded in death by his parents, Rose and Edward Weedon, his brothers Jack and Harold Weedon, and his sister Eileen (Weedon) Norton. Kenny is survived by his sister, Bernice Vopni of Cheyenne, WY, his brother Dennis (Eleanor) Weedon, of Landmark, MB, his companion of many years, Deborah Hay, of Winnipeg, and several loving nieces and nephews. Kenny thoroughly enjoyed playing golf, bowling, playing cards, and cribbage. Kenny loved the weekend golf trips with his dear friends where cold beer and good conversation were often the norm. Kenny also enjoyed his month-long trips to California to "hang out by the pool" and "sit in the hot tub" with his nephew, Tim Norton, and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Kenny will be sadly missed by all who knew him. A celebration of life will be held at the Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street, Winnipeg, MB on Tuesday, July 29, at 7:00 p.m. A reception will immediately follow. I just learned of Kenny's passing. I am so sorry as Kenny was a really good friend. We both grew up together on Chalmers Ave. in the 1950s and and '60s. I remember his family well, especially his little brother Dennis. They were a really good family. We played many, many games among ourselves such as street hockey, baseball on the corner lot, snowball fights, even playing guns as Cowboys and soldiers. Kenny was a good friend from my youth. I will always cherish the good times we had just playing and hanging about the neigbourhood. Kenny you were a good dude. I am so sorry for your passing, you deserved much more. My sincere condolences to Dennis and Kenny's friends. - Posted by: Walter Scheuer (Friend and neighbour) on: Aug 07, 2019

Being a cancer survivor I felt compassion for Kenny in his fight to beat this disease. I have known Kenny for many years, he was a part of the Golf Vagabonds and always enjoyed golf, good or bad. We had many good times in our youth, especially with the old Ford. Kenny will be missed. Mammie - Posted by: Dave Manveiler (Friend) on: Jul 27, 2014
