MARION DALKE
Born: Jun 13, 1937
Date of Passing: Jul 31, 2014
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMARION DALKE June 13, 1937 - July 31, 2014 With loving family by her side Marion passed away peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at the Health Sciences Centre. She will be greeted in heaven by her loving husband Norm, bridge friends little Norm and Elda, sister Sharon, brother Don and wife Maureen. She leaves to mourn her sister Audrey, daughter Deb, son John (Shelley), daughter Kim (Jimmy), daughter Tammy; grandchildren Jennifer, Brook, Brendan and Courtney; nieces and nephews, especially Gail who could never seem to pick up the right box of kleenex for her. Everyone knew Marion for her love of the lake which all started with family camping trips to the Big Whiteshell. This love continued at Lake of the Woods where she and her husband built their dream retirement home for all to enjoy. Her passion for art and a talented eye for decorating turned their home into a place you would see in Cottage magazine as she loved beautiful things. They often referred to this beautiful place as "camp" and for many seasons welcomed family and friends to come out and enjoy a little piece of heaven. Weekends at camp were filled with activities like horseshoes, cards, Trivial Pursuit, Sequence and finally sitting around the campfire laughing to all hours of the night. Of course living at the lake she enjoyed nature and was a lover of wildlife, even for the deer that ate her cedars. This love for nature continued on for many years and everyone knew exactly what was on Discovery channel especially when it was Shark Week. "Mom we love you and will miss you dearly." We would like to thank the staff at Deer Lodge Centre (3E) for the many months of care and support they gave to our mother. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Deer Lodge Centre or the Wildlife Federation. Memorial service will take place on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Chapel Lawn, 4000 Portage Avenue. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

Marion or Mrs. Dalke was like a second mother to me and my brother. I was fortunate to take my kids to see her before she left for Wpg. for good, and us with our move down east. I will never forget her laugh, her humour, and outlook, She was a great part of my childhood on the lake. We played horse shoes and had campfires. I was so happy to have her and John at my wedding. She was a great force in my life. My condolences to your family. We were neighbours for years but to me your mom was family. I’m so sorry I was not with you when she died. My own father died a few months after she did. I still have so many fond memories of the Dalkes and the lake we shared. Here’s hoping my dad, Norm and Mrs. Dalke have reunited and are kindred souls again. - Posted by: Kristin Tataryn (Neighbor & friend) on: Nov 25, 2019

I'm so sorry to hear of Mrs. Dalke's passing. I remember many years of Mrs. Dalke always being so kind to me as Tammy and I always seemed to be together. I loved the car rides with the highlight of sitting in the back of the station wagon at the back window :) My prayers and thoughts are with the Dalke family. - Posted by: Charmaine (Tammy's childhood friend) on: Aug 03, 2014
