Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJERRY ALEXANDER MELNYK On Wednesday, July 30, 2014 Jerry passed away peacefully at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 74 after suffering from cancer and COPD. Jerry is survived by his sisters, Alice Solypa (nee Melnyk), Marcella Melnyk, as well as many nieces and nephews across the western provinces. He was predeceased by his parents, Helen and Jacob Melnyk; brothers, Peter, Michael and Walter; and sister Helen Trombley (nee Melnyk). Jerry was born and raised in Carrot River, SK where he went to school and later farmed with his father and brothers, Walter and Peter. He also farmed and worked with his very dear friends Garry and Donna Meyer. When Jerry moved to Winnipeg, he took up welding and worked for several years. Jerry later went to work and made friends at Doray Enterprises Inc. We would like to thank Dr. Francis Newman for the many years of care, also to the staff at Unit 6 at Victoria Hospital. A special thank you to the Bermisa family and staff at Garden Manor for their compassionate care of Jerry. Jerry will be deeply missed by his family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 16 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. 204-586-8044
