ROSS OLAFSON Peacefully on Friday, August 8, 2014, Ross Lifman Olafson's journey on this earth ended at the age of 58. Ross was born May 13, 1956 in Arborg, Manitoba. He attended school and worked most of his career in and around the Arborg area. He leaves to mourn precious memories - Lenore, his wife of 36 years, sons Jonathan (Dana), Brett (Jena), daughter Lauren, sisters Pat (Mark), Lora (Bob), in-laws Violet (Murray d.2013), Lorne (Lorraine), Donna (Edward), as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Ted and Solla Olafson. Ross was a jack of all trades and worked many jobs over the course of his career. Over the past three years Ross worked at Vidir Machine, a job he loved and took great pride in. He endeared himself to his co-workers through his quick wit, sense of humour and love of practical jokes. He raised three children with much love and good humour. Along with his wife he created a beautiful home and a gorgeous park-like yard which he took great pride in. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and very proud to be a master angler Pickerel fisherman on an annual basis. He was up early every Saturday and Sunday morning to make sure he was the first person at Hnausa dock so that he always got his favourite spot. He enjoyed many fishing trips around the province and country with family and friends in search of the next big catch. A cremation has taken place and a private family service will be held. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff of the Arborg and District Hospital. If friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to CancerCare Mantioba on their website at: www.cancercarefdn.mb.ca 'For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have ever lasting life.' John 3:16
