MARJORIE TOMPKINS (nee REHILL) December 16, 1916 - August 14, 2014 On August 14, our beloved grandmother and sister peacefully passed away at the age of 97. Marjorie was predeceased by her husband Burt and their only child Gail Sexsmith, her parents, her two brothers Victor and Ted and her sister Bertha Murray. Marjorie will be missed by her three granddaughters Jennifer (Rob) Fenton, Kim Thomas and Debbie Sexsmith (John Bekavac), her three great-grandchildren, Sam and Alexandra Fenton, Hayden Thomas as well as her sister Joyce "Tootsie" Gosling and several nieces and nephews. Marjorie "Dimps" was born in Winnipeg and then spent her formative years in Portage la Prairie. During this time, she met Burt, her loving husband of 57 years. In 1942, they welcomed their daughter Gail into their life and after the war the family settled in Winnipeg. She dedicated 25 years of service to the Bay Downtown and was also actively involved with the Fort Garry Legion and was part of the Ladies' Auxiliary for several years; however, Marjorie's greatest joy was time spent with family and we all looked forward to Sunday dinners at Grannie's. We are grateful for the love, grace and kindness she shared with us and have all benefited from having her in our lives. She will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank the staff at the Pembina Place Personal Care Home for the wonderful care given to our grandmother and sister over the years. As per Marjorie's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date.
