Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • I grew up with Barbara and spent many times in the Finch home. I loved the great ham sandwiches from Dents! I know that my mother Mary Davies always thought fondly of Bob and loved the wonderful roses he grew. Sincere condolences to all of you, I know he will be missed. - Posted by: Jan Davies (Palmer) (Old neighbor) on: Aug 20, 2014

  • I was so sorry to read of Bob's passing. We met 64 years ago as neighbours on Hector Avenue. I have many memories of the family and Bob's smile, always there. May you find peace and comfort knowing he was a wonderful, caring person. My thoughts are with you all. Pat Moreau - Posted by: Pat Moreau (friend and neighbor) on: Aug 18, 2014

  • I was saddened to hear of Bob’s passing. Our sincere condolences go to all the family. I often thought how nice it would have been to have met Bob again in more recent times. I knew Bob since I was a boy with my father, Sidney, at Dent’s English Bacon and Sausage Co. on Fort Street. Many, many years have passed since then, but I remember Bob so well. He always greeted me with a big friendly smile and asked me how I was doing. Later, when I was in my teen years, I became better acquainted with Bob because we worked together at Dent’s. Bob led by example...he was a very polite, true gentleman. His work ethic was impeccable and he always remained calm and steady when things sometimes went awry. Bob was always punctual and efficient on the job. I recall his wife, Florence too and remember how pleasant and friendly she was as well. Bob’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren really did have a wonderful father and grandfather. Rest in peace, Bob, you were a wonderful person to know when I was growing up. - Posted by: Keith Hall (friend) on: Aug 16, 2014
