CONSTABLE ALLAN GERALD COOKE (RET.) After a lengthy illness, it is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend on Saturday, August 16, 2014. Dad was predeceased by his wife Barbara this past April; his parents Harry and Alice Cooke; brother Don Cooke; and infant daughter Nicole. Left to cherish his memory are his daughters Leanne (Lawrence), Lori; granddaughters Raya (Justin), Shaylyn (Joel); and the apple of his eye, his great-granddaughter Blakely. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Dad was a member of the Winnipeg Police Force for 30 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting was his passion. Dad was a man of many talents, his sense of humour was amazing and he always had a smile on his face through whatever life's challenges handed him. The family would like to thank all the staff at the Riverview Health Centre Palliative Care 3E for their love, compassion, care and friendship they have shown to us all. You are all truly amazing people. Should friends so desire, donations may be made in Dad's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, MB R3T 0R3. In accordance with Al's wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal funeral service will be held. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, Winnipeg, MB. For those who wish to sign the online Guest Book please visit our website. So sorry to hear of Al's passing. Enjoyed working with Al over the years and have many fond memories of our competition revolver matches in the early years. Al was a straight shooter both on and off the job. - Posted by: Bob Patrick (Co-worker) on: Aug 20, 2014

We were deeply saddened when we heard that you had lost your father. We are all thinking of your family, and send our heartfelt sympathy. In the 40 years we lived next door, your father was the most wonderful neighbor! He was always warm, gracious, and ready to lend a hand. We feel fortunate to have known him. May the peace, which comes from the memories of love shared, comfort you now and in the days ahead. - Posted by: The Cox Family (Neighbors) on: Aug 19, 2014

So sorry to hear about Al's passing and my thoughts are with the family during this sad time. We worked together in 1987 until his retirement which was very difficult for me because I did not want him to leave. He had plans to be with Barb, his girls and especially his grandchildren which he adored. I will always remember Al as a great boss and friend. Rest in peace Al I will always remember you. - Posted by: Patti Burton (co-worker) on: Aug 19, 2014

Having known Al and his wife Barb for more than forty years we were deeply saddened by their passing. They were a perfect couple and showed nothing but love to everyone. They were great family people and always welcomed everyone into their family. There will be a huge hole in our hearts and will miss them a great deal. Rest peacefully you deserve it. - Posted by: Rick and Kathy Sontag (Friends) on: Aug 19, 2014
